Upcoming in the new year.

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I did a post. I've been busy with working and junk to get anything done. And lately it's been in High Gear for Christmas coming well this week. Anyway with out further ado let's get this post started.

GSN is to be getting some new GSN Originals, Hidden Agenda and Carnie Wilson's new reality show. Though, who knows how well this will go over. Also with the son of Match Game and Family Feud's own Richard Dawson, is slated to host Instant Recall.

I have also been watching videos these days of the 1980s edition of the Hollywood Squares, you all remember "From the Center Square, Joan Rivers" or "From the Center Square, Jim J. Bullock" on those days, well anyways I hope GSN Will get that in.

There have been also new Game shows released for the iPhone: Who Wants to Be a Millionaire 2010 and Family Feud. Slated for next year on the major consoles, pc, and iphone is the Hollywood Squares.

Let's hope that this year will be the year for the game shows to be brought back to daytime.

A few updates :D

Well, I do apologize for a lack of updates on the blog...I have been working lately and haven't had the time to get everything organized.

Let's first start by the new Wheel of Fortune update:

- Free Play: With the addition of this feature, it retired the Free Spin. Starting back in the original days of 1974 in the pilots, Free Spin began as just a simple wedge on the wheel. If a contestant landed on this space, they would receive a Free Spin token. After landing on the wedge, the contestant had the option to Spin Again or to Buy a Vowel (if their score was high enough). The free spin would then be replaced in 1989. The Wedge would be replaced to the Free Spin disc. The Disc would only allow one contestant to receive it, only if they were to call a correct consonant. The Free spin would then be retired at the beginning of Season 27. And the feature would now be called the Free Play. Though probably to pay homage to the retired Free Spin, on the Free Play Wedge the word "Free" keeps the same text as it did on the old Free Spin Disc. If a contestant should land on it, they get to either call a consonant or a FREE VOWEL. If they call a correct consonant it will earn them $500 X the amount revealed.
- Another change on the set included the puzzle board. Originally the puzzle board had only 3 row, but then became a 4 row where the hostess had to turn the letters. Then in 1997 the puzzle board was then revamped with new screens, where Vanna become a letter toucher, the following that the puzzle board would be revamped once more with flat screens with a blue border. Starting with this season of the show, the puzzle board's border would now revert back to gold and also Green will appear.

Amongst other updates:
Coming up this Monday is the premiere week for GSN's Catch 21 & the Newlywed Game's 2nd Seasons. Also with the Newlywed game there will be a thing of two firsts! Not only is GSN doing a special Celebrity version, GSN will also have the first ever SAME SEX MARRIAGE couple on the series. I was not only surprised, but also very very excited to see it. I want to see if a Gay Couple can beet a Straight couple on the show. And I must say I very much approve. The couples will be as follows: George Takei & Brad Altman, Christopher Knight & Adrianne Curry, and Damien Gurganius & Nicole Brewer. Though hopefully I will see more Same sex couples on there in the future.

ABC & CBS:
- ABC has renewed Millionaire; however, an additional item has been removed from the show this season. Starting this season, they retired the lifeline "Phone A Friend". The lifeline has been there since the premiere of the show in 1999, the lifeline has been there, it allows a contestant to choose a friend from a pre-selected list to call for help on a question. But as of this season they retired it. With this lifeline gone, it was then decided that the "Ask the Expert" lifeline would be now offered from the beginning. Also amongst the changes, the money ladder has changed and here it is:

15 - $1,000,000
14 - $500,000
13 - $250,000
12 - $100,000

5 - $1,000
4 - $500
3 - $300
2 - $200
1 - $100

There is the money ladder lists.

-CBS has brought back the Daytime for Game Shows. They have released Let's Make a Deal with host Wayne Brady (Don't Forget the Lyrics and Whose Line is it Anyway). And let me tell you, I really am not fond of this show now. CBS is my opinion isn't doing a good job picking shows. I think they should've picked up $1,000,000 Pyramid.

Finally your all wondering GSN's oodles:
GSNLive as of Monday will be losing 3 hours which means there will only be 6 questions today as per rumors going around. Also with the introduction of the Wonder Wheel, they've added 3 oodle collecting games.
- Basket Case - Based off of GSNLive game "ZigZag" and the Price is Right's "Pinko". The object of the game is to catch the matching color chip to it's appropriate bucket. If there is a match you earn +5 oodles, if you there is no match you get +1.
- Cyclone - This game is pretty much straight forward. The object of the game is to drag oodles to the bottom of the tube where you can suck them up to raise your score. A Purple Oodle symbol will give you +10 where as a normal gold will give you a +1.
- Horse Play - Utilizing your left and right arrow keys, you need to navigate your jockey from left to right to collect oodles. If you hit a rose symbol you get +10 and a +1 for all others. You also get +10 for coming in first place.
With the addition of these games, we lose the Catch 21 oodles challenge question. Also on the block during the day on the GSN Chat room which can be found on the GSNLive and GSNRadio page during 12:00-6pm est the GSNAdmins will play a game where you can earn 50 oodles if they win; however, you may only win once per day. Also GSN Angel has introduced a new game as well, called the Super Bonus Question, she plays the game where all you need to do is to win. If you do you get 200 oodles + 1 free Wonder Wheel Spin; however, unlike the other games you can only win this once every 30 days. Also the Newlywed Game has two new oodle-tunities, Pick your Couple, this game you earn oodles for correctly guessing which couple will win that day. Also they Newlywed Video of the Day, you need to correctly guess what the couple is gunna answer to the question.

This is pretty much the new update for this time I will try to get more updates as I can and also I must worry bout working as well.

Best of Millionaire - Sunday

It is now the day of the premiere for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and I must say I've had a really fun time working on this Best of Millionaire Week. Tonight, I will be playing along with ABC's Enhanced TV. Yes they even brought back that element to play along with the show. But, anyway before we get on with the show, it's time for my ALL TIME FAVORITE CONTESTANT ON MILLIONAIRE.

Put the following letters in order for an actor's name:
A. N
B. O
C. R
D. M

If you put them in the right order, it's ABCD, and you get the answer NORM? NORM PETERSON no NORM MACDONALD, and here he is. He may not have won the $1,000,000, but he took away $500,000! And was really close but walked away.

However, Let's Make a Deal will be hosted by none other than the Wayne Brady from Whose Line Is It Anyway? and Don't Forget the Lyrics. And the exact date is October 5. More will come available as soon as possible.

Good news for game shows

I have good news for Let's Make a Deal. CBS has officially announced that it will be apart of the fall line-up. Also Family Feud is returning an old element to the new season, you all remember the Bullseye Round. Finally, Check CRAIGSLIST there maybe contestant information on there! Click HERE for the details.

Millionaire Marathon

I am pretty much going to clarify, GSN will be running the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?: The Special 10th Anniversary Marathon. It will be running from 9:00am EST to 6:00PM EST. It won't be running until 8:00PM when the new ones premiere so you need to be able to go from 6-8PM Est which is 2 hours of no millionaire!

Game Show Video of the Week! - 8/3/09 - 8/10/09

Here is the video of the week. I figure I'd get my wheels turning with Michelle Lowenstein's $1,000,000 victory on Wheel of Fortune:

Here is the winning of the $1,000,000:

And here is the clip of her returning to talk on a later show:

Again congratulations Michelle on being the first $1,000,000 winner on Wheel of Fortune! And I will say this congratulations on being the Game Show Video of the Week!

GSNLive - Update.

Last week, GSNLive brought us a new game called Clued In. Unfortunately, after last week, it has been officially decided that the game is discontinued at the moment.

Also up on the block is that they fixed the way you can enter now. It used to be you can get 20 times per hours (10 Phone-in and 10 Website). Now they updated it so you may only enter 10 times per hour on the site and 1 time per hour via the call in, so it's now 11 times per hour.

The next sweepstakes has been announced to be GSNLive's Summer Sizzle Sweepstakes, the winner will be getting a nice Summer of Fun Prize Package, which includes a Backyard Barbacue and a hot tub. So enjoy their patio set.

And Finally, this is the last week for the Money Meter. As of August 7, 2009, this game will now longer be featured as a game for GSNLive. Just a heads up they may be replacing it with something new, who knows? I guess we just got to wait and see.

Best of Millionaire - Monday

Since we are all doing a countdown to Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? The 10th Anniversary Edition, I have some important updates for you all. To commemorate Regis' return to the Hot Seat, GSN will be hosting a Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? marathon this weekend. Also this blog will be hosting my favorite videos of the show in addition to the Video's of the Week. Now to kick off the Best of Millionaire, I have selected Nancy Christy's triumph on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'s Day Time Version. It's not a Regis Episode but it's a favorite of mine of Millionaire History w/ the first US Female Millionaire Winner.

GSN Schedule

After finally getting to the time to do it, I post the GSN Schedule for the Programming block to the blog. I finally decided that it's time to do it, just a note all times listed are for EST.

BSN Question Correction...and update

GSN's Big Saturday Night as I stated earlier has discontinued it's games. This is true. Also for the question list I pretty much got them from the GSN's Big Saturday Night Question Print-out page, and for question five I must correct it for #5 it's:

5. On the TV series "LOST", what's the name of the project that came to the island to conduct research experiments?

Again I am sorry about that, and had to correct that error.

Also one more thing. I have seen complaints on the GSN Buzz forums that people did not receive the 300 oodles as original thought by everyone. I am now going to clarify why there are only 100 oodles giving to everyone. Even though this is the run down on what happened:
  • Game 1 - Blue Won
  • Game 2 - Tie
  • Game 3 - Red Won
GSN only gave oodles for the Game 2 Tie. They did not give out oodles for the wins on games 1 and 3. If Game Show Trivia (Saturday Edition) question # 6 changes, then I will repost what the new question is but not the answers. Again I do apologize on it.

Big Saturday Night Games Are Over!

Originally slated to end in August, 2009, the Big Saturday Night Games have come to an end as of last week. We've gotten the word that the site is not offering the Phone Entries for the on air game as well as the number is coming up "Sorry" and the game is done; however, 20Q and The Money List is going to continue on as well as the Inbox $25,000 Sweepstakes and Oodles Game Show Trivia (Saturday Edition) will continue on as always. Thought the $25,000 Inbox Sweepstakes will be ending in August as planned. So the current line up for GSN's Big Saturday Night programming block will be as follows:
20Q w/ Cat Deeley & Hal Sparks as Mr. Q (8-9PM);
Deal or No Deal w/ Howie Mandel & The Banker (9-10PM)
The Money List w/ Fred Roggin of GSN Live fame (10-11PM)
Then episodes will repeat from 12-2am.

Here are the questions to answer for the Big Saturday Night Line-up
  1. At the start of today's 20Q, what video game did Mr. Q say he rules at?
  2. On today's 20Q, what classic TV show did Mr. Q say he was streaming a rerun of?
  3. What were the Deal or No Deal Models wearing as they made their entrance on today's show?
  4. What's the nickname that Deal or No Deal contestant Amy has for her husband Wayne?
  5. In which movie, featured on The Money List, did Bruce Willis play a character named Joe Hallen back?
  6. Featured on today's episode of The Money, whose portrait appears on the U.S. $100 bill?
I will not be revealing the answers at all!!!!! I am only reporting the Questions only! If I do reveal answers from any of the GSN Oodles Questions, I may end up getting myself in trouble with my own oodles at risk because it would be considered colluding on the answers. I will continue to keep you updated on game shows and what is going on, but for right now, have some fun with the Saturday Night Oodles.

Another Game Show Pilot Shot?

I've found out some good information, not only did CBS decide to tape pilots for the $1,000,000 Pyramid and Let's Make a Deal. They also taped a pilot for The Dating Game. Now you all know the format but if you don't here it is:

Each Game: A Man or a Woman gets a chance to ask 3 possible women/men questions, and after the question round, then Man or woman will decide of the 3 possibilties who they want to date.

So, this is a possible chance of taking on the role along side $1,000,000 Pyramid and Let's Make a Deal. So, depending on CBS' decision, I hope they choose a good idea for the afternoon to play up against ABC's and NBC's line-up as well as a good programming to go up against GSN Live's line up!

Coming in the future from us

I'm working on a few things right now, like with opening up a Facebook for the game show blog! And keep you all updated! On there as well. I will be working on that today and gunna be watching the Saturday Night Line up! Hopefully I'll be giving you the results of Big Saturday Night!

CBS's possible reviving Gameshows for Daytime!

Well as you all know that one of their long running soap operas called Guiding Light was cancelled this year. But your probably wondering to yourself, what will be taking it's place for CBS Daytime? Can be another soap opera? Well one of the big ideas that's being tossed around now is having two revived game shows from CBS' past to returning.

First up on the list is the $1,000,000 Pyramid. Taking us back to the olden days of with Dick Clark, it takes us back to an updated version of the set. However, Donny Osmand & Dick Clark are not returning; however, two possible hosts have been thrown into the mix. The is official that have been taping the pilots are Tim Vincent (from Access Hollywood) and Dean Cain (of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman and Ripley's Believe It or Not Fame). Amongst Celebrities that have been stated to have been around are comedienne Susie Essman, actor Jesse Metcalfe (from John Tucker Must Die), and former Jeopardy! champion and current GSN Live personality Ken Jennings. From what is stated, gameplay will be the same as the $100,000 Pyramid. The elimination round will 30 seconds to guess the 7 items in 1 of 6 categories. The Winner's Circle will be played 60 seconds to get 6 items for $10,000. The contestants will be playing for the top 4 spots and 2 wild card spots for the League of Champions. And will be going for the $1,000,000 prize. Who knows maybe this series will take off and be a regular for years to come!

And the other show that's most likely gunna be on the block with the Pyramid is Let's Make a Deal. That's right the old Monty Hall game show would be returning for another go. This show will be bring back the old ZONK! prizes and will be lead at the helm with Wayne Brady of Whose Line is it Anyway? and Don't Forget the Lyrics fame.

If these two come to the Day time schedule this fall for CBS you can Bet Your Life on it that I will be watching and keeping track! And maybe try contacting to become a contestant on them if they go into major production!

Just a little bit something, it has been announced that Wheel of Fortune & Jeopardy will be returning Sepember 14th, amongs GSN Shows Bingo America's 3rd season is scheduled to return this Sept., I don't know the exact date at the moment but it's probably going to be Sept. 14th as well, and Richard Karn w/ co-hostess Diane Mizota are moste likely returning. The information going around is taht The Newlywed Game have been renewed for a new season, hopefully with Ms. Wilson at the helm again. The Money List and 20Q are still on the schedule, though little is known if 20Q and The Money List will be renewed yet. 20Q features Cat Deely (of So You Think You Can Dance fame) and stand-up comedian Hal Sparks as Mr Q. And GSNLive's personality Fred Roggin is with The Money List. Lingo is NOT returning. It is cancelled. Though if you views want to get new episodes then write to GSN or post something on the boards. Family Feud has been renewed though Trivial Pursuit: America Plays is on hiatus. It is unsure if it will return or not. Catch-21 is currently in it's new season and unsure if it will be renewed for a 3rd season. Finally, Million Dollar Password, it's is unsure if it will be renewed for a 3rd season.

Now for my news with Twitter:
Our Twitter does have followers and is following people; however, due to problems on their part, it isn't showing them up at the moment. But, hopefully it gets fixed as soon as possible so we can display our many faithful followers and who we are following!

My Twitter & GSNLive's Money Meter & Clued In

Everyone, got an update for you all.

My Twitter:
Well I set up a twitter account just for this blog and my GSN Activities alone. It's located @ http://www.twitter.com/shaggy32gsn. Please do feel free to follow the tweets that we well tweet on twitter. And I really don't know how any other way to say that.

GSNLive's Money Meter & Clued In:
As you all know there is a GSN Live game called, Money Meter, which keeps increasing for everyone logging on to GSN.com. Though it also adds up for the entries into their live contests. You can get up to 60 entries, if you decide to enter your # for 10times per hour. And well unfortunately today's contestant failed to answer the question correctly. Starting $11, 675. So I am wishing goodluck on winning.

Now for Clued In, GSNLive has added a brand new game called "CLUED IN". Everyday during the week GSNLive will be showing a video of Ken Jennings giving a clue to a mystery thing. It's basically like playing a giant game of Password Plus, except you don't have to guess the mini-passwords that clue you in to the major password. Go to http://www.gsn.com/live and click on the Clued In icon. You have 10 entries per day. And you can only enter 10 times a day from Mon-Thur. The answer will be revealed by Friday. Also to recap yourself on clues check out GSN Live's Facebook page on http://www.facebook.com/GSNLive. Though just to fill you in, your clues are so far:

TEA
QUEEN

If you think you got it, enter now. I will be adding the clues as well to the blog for you all.

Welcome to Shaggy32's Game Show Blog.

Hello All,

Welcome to my blog. Most of you from GSN.com know me as Shaggy32, and well I am officially opening a Game Show Blog! We are planning some major fun for the year. Amongst the items that are going to be done is Game Show news. Get some of the news on some of your old and new Game Shows. Another thing we are going to have is the posting for the Big Saturday Night Questions, though it is rumored to have ended on July 25, 2009, we are hoping it isn't true. Just to clear things up, I will not be posting Oodles answers or giving "oodles updates". I will however be giving the lowdown on the breakdown of oodles just for all people here. I am even going to try to work on landing interviews from Game Show contestants or maybe even Game Show hosts. Also, we will be posting some of the videos shown around Youtube.com and maybe have some fun with that maybe if I get on GSNLive as a contestant or maybe on a game show myself, I will be showing video of it. Though to all game show fans out there, I have one thing to say, GET IN THE GAME!
